„New Force in Fighting Violence against Women“

The project „New Force in Fighting Violence against Women" is being conducted by Women’s Room- Centre for Sexual Rights (Zagreb) and the following partner organizations: Women’s Association "SOURCE" (Tenja), Women’s Group Karlovac "Step" (Karlovac) and Stígamót – Education and Counseling Center for Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Violence (Iceland). The project was created with aim of strengthening the capacities of civil society organizations (CSO) and promoting stimulating environment for CSOs. The project will be implemented through four groups of activities: 1. Analysis of the role, capacity and sustainability of CSOs working on field of violence against women 2. Strengthening the capacity of CSOs through: improving cooperation between CSOs, activation of citizens, improving cooperation with the media and the development of advocacy tools to combat violence against women 3. Advocacy for implementation of the action plan for combating violence against women and models of sustainability of CSOs working in this area in order to integrate them in the relevant public policy 4. Raising public awareness about the issue of violence against women and the role of civil society organizations in that field. The project is financially supported by the National Foundation for Civil Society Development, the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
